Week 5

Sunday, September 15 2019

Week 4 Recap: Last week was a bit crazy, but we survived. On Tuesday, we hosted our first NLCC dual of the year. It was very hot for the girls races, but we had some nice performances. Olivia Schmitt, Krista Gfesser, and Gretchen Good led the way. It cooled off a bit for the Boys race which led to some fast times. Gavin Murrie, Aidan Gillespie, and Micah Lind led the way. On Saturday, we traveled to the Mecca of Illinois distance running: Detweiller Park. The historic course did not fail as the Eagles left with 18 personal bests, 7 season bests, and several near misses. The performances by the Open Boys and Varsity Girls were even more impressive as the heat soared into the 80s. We capped off a phenomenal week with some songs and snacks on the trip home.

Week 5 Preview: We have two meets again this week. On Tuesday we travel to Hart's Hill in Round Lake for a dual meet. On Saturday we make the short trek to Gurnee to compete in the Warren Invite. Please join us for the parent breakfast beginning around 8am.

Shout Out: Our week 3 Athletes of the week were Becca Runyan, Ben Schneiderheinze, and Krista Gfesser. We are proud to have these athletes represent us.

We also had a large number of personal bests this week. Congrats to: Nathan Rolla, Sean Humpa, Gavin Murrie, Micah Lind, Ethan Goode, Quin Maloney, Ethan Carr, Adrian Kupiec, Jacob Mueller, Jayson Seiflow, Daniel Gfesser, Cade Empen, Jackson Sayre, Ian Halterman, Collin Gahagan, Akash Patel, Becca Runyan, Krista Gfesser, Gretchen Good, Meghan Goossen, and Thea Lungay who all earned lifetime personal bests.
