Week 3 Announcements

Info for Week 3 is listed below. We had a wonderful start to the year at Fox River Park last Wednesday. The Boys won and the Girls finished 2nd (for complete results go to team info -> schedule & results). The majority of our returning runners improved their time from last year including 10 by over a minute! Looking forward to a fun meet with 2 invites! - The Pasta Party will be hosted this week at the Pomon residence (573 Oxford Lane, Lindenhurst), Pomon4@comcast.net

- The Parent Breakfast on Saturday Morning at the Crystal Lake South Invite has been CANCELLED. We apologize for the inconvenience, but it will be extremely difficult to host due to the parking situation.

Crystal Lake South Info

Bus is at 6:30am

8:30 – VAR Boys 9:15 – VAR Girls 10:00 – F/S Boys 10:30 – F/S Girls

- VAR is 3.1 mi & FS is 3500m

- All varsity & Juniors & Seniors will race in the Varsity races

- All Freshmen and Sophomores not on varsity will race in the F/S races

* EVERYONE will race!

Important Information about Parking: We will be using the parking lot at Veterans Acres to park busses only.  Spectators will not be allowed to park in the parking lot or on the side streets by Veterans Acres.  This will be policed by the Crystal Lake police department and people may be ticketed for parking on side streets.  Spectators are to park at Prairie Ridge High School or Crystal Lake Central High School.  We will have busses that will shuttle the spectators from the school to the course. The busses will also shuttle the spectators back to the school.  These shuttle busses will run constantly from 7:15 until the end of the awards ceremony.  Prairie Ridge High School and Crystal Lake Central High School are both one mile away from Veterans Acres.  To get to Prairie Ridge High School the spectators will drive past Veterans Acres and the high school will be on their right about a mile after Veterans Acres. To get to Crystal Lake Central High School the spectators will have to turn south on Walk-up, off of Rte. 176.  This is the opposite direction from Veterans Acres. They will run right into the school about a mile down the road. Please advise the spectators (parents) to allow time to be shuttled to the course. They should show up 40 minutes before the race starts. If they want to see the Varsity Boys’ race they should be at the school by 7:50.  If they want to see the Varsity Girls race they should be at the school by 8:50 and so on.  My guess is that Prairie Ridge will fill up first. It is the same ride from Crystal Lake Central.

              We appreciate every ones help and patients with this new format.  The park district has requested this change if we want to continue to use veterans’ acres as a course.
