Girls @ IHSA Sectional

On Thursday, May 11th, the Lakes Girls will compete at Grayslake North in the IHSA Sectional. Field events will begin at 4:15pm and Running events at 5:45pm. Athletes that hit the qualifying mark OR place in the top 2 of each event, will qualify for the IHSA State Finals in Charleston. Listed below is the meet information and the qualifying marks for each event. Our lineup will NOT be posted below, but will be posted by the locker room. Students will be dismissed at the end of 7th period to leave on the bus at 2:07pm. Please e-mail Coach Shepherd with any questions or concerns.

* Parents of qualifying athletes will be contacted ASAP with information regarding our trip to the State Finals. Please check your e-mail over the weekend as our goal will be to send out information by the following Monday.

Notes

- Admission: General Admission price set by IHSA is $5.00.

- T-shirts: There will be Sectional t-shirts available for $20, tie dye t-shirts for $25 and hooded sweatshirts  for $30.  

4:15 pm - Field Events

* Pole Vault will begin at 4:25pm

* High Jump & Pole Vault will be run 5 Alive

* Long Jump - 2 flights, cafeteria style within flight, 45 min time limit with finals immediately after

* Triple Jump - Will begin AFTER Long Jump. 2 flights, cafeteria style within flight, 45 min time limit with finals immediately after  

* Discus - 3 flights, (last flight will be the best). Finals immediately follow.

* Shot Put - Warmups will start during flight 3 of discus. 3 flights, (last flight will be the best) Finals will immediately follow

* 9 competitors advance to finals in shot put, discus, long jump, and triple jump.

5:40pm - National Anthem

5:45pm - Running Events begin. The order is listed below.                           

Qualifying Marks

- Running events are in order that they will be contested.

- For the IHSA State Series we in the 3A classification.
