IHSA 2A Regional Meet
Date: 10/2/23
Meet Specifics - The meet will take place at Lakes Community High School, 1600 Eagle Way Lake Villa, IL 60046, and will be conducted under the guidelines of the 2023-2024 IHSA Cross Country Manual for Schools and Managers.
Competing teams will be Antioch, Arlington Heights (St. Viator), Crystal Lake (Prairie Ridge), Grayslake (Central), Grayslake (North), Lake Forest (H.S.), Lake Villa (Lakes), Mundelein (Carmel), Norridge (Ridgewood), Wauconda, Chicago (St. Patrick) and Niles (Notre Dame)-boys only
Girls Race: 10:00 AM
Boys Race: 11:00 A
Concessions - Concessions will NOT be available during the meet.
Admission - Admission will NOT be charged.
Bus Parking - Buses can drop athletes off in the football stadium parking lot, then proceed to the gravel service road that runs north-south in between the baseball fields and soccer fields. Please have the drivers drive south down the gravel drive, make a three-point turn, and drive north as far as possible before parking on the gravel service road.
Coaches Meeting - A coaches meeting will be held at 9:15 AM. We will determine the games committee at this meeting. We ask that coaches help with course coverage (girls’ coaches during the boys’ race and boys’ coaches during the girls’ race). We will communicate the areas of coverage we need help at the coaches meeting
On-Line List of Participants - The runners listed on the Regional/Sectional Online List of Participant Declarations are the only runners the school may be used during the state series, beginning with the regional. Substitutions at the sectional and/or state final must come from the list of 14 runners registered on athletic.net. If a school does not submit enter the Regional/Sectional Online List of Participant declarations by the deadline, coaches and/or participants from the school will be subject to sanctions which could include, but not be limited to being ruled ineligible to coach and/or athletes will be ineligible to compete in the State Series. The On-Line List of Participants must be submitted on Athletic.net by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, October 16th. Please refer to the IHSA Cross Country Terms and Conditions for further information.
Athlete and Team Advancement - The first six (6) placing teams and the first five (5) runners who are not members of the advancing teams in each regional will advance to sectional competition at the site to which they are assigned. In addition, in the event the 6th, 7th or 8th place overall individual finisher in the regional is not on a qualifying team, such 6th, 7th or 8th place overall finisher in the individual race shall advance from the regional to the sectional meet. This regional feeds into the Woodstock High School sectional, so please be on the lookout for sectional information to come directly from Woodstock.
