Facilities: Grayslake Central is an 8 lane track. Only rubber-soled shoes or shoes with spikes not exceeding 1⁄4 inch length will be permitted. The shot and discus areas are concrete, so rubber-soled shoes only may be worn. No scratch marks of any kind will be allowed. Chalk, Bean bags or half tennis balls may be used. Entrance/Exit of the track and infield will only be via the gate north of the home stands; all other entrances will remain closed.
Infield: No one except for officials, coaches, and competitors will be allowed to enter the track area. Team Camps will be permitted along the west perimeter fence of the stadium. If the ground is too wet, camps can also be on the adjacent asphalt. Please have your teams enter through the main SW gate of the stadium upon arrival.
Track Markings: White: 200M, 300M IH, 400M,1600M/3200M Waterfall, Common Finish Line
Gold: 100M, 4x100M Relay exchange, 4x200M Relay 3rd exchange
Blue: 110M HH, 4x400m Relay
Red: 4x200M Relay start, 4x200M Relay 1st&2nd exchange
Locker Facilities: Locker facilities will NOT be provided.
Athletic Trainer: Grayslake Central High School will have an Athletic Trainer on site. Let us know if you need to see an athletic trainer for last minute taping. Please make sure to have your team bring their own supplies if you anticipate this happening. If you need to use heating packs or other treatment supplies, please notify the athletic trainers in advance by email at ggerdes@d127.org
Concessions: There will be concessions available under the home stands. There will also be a coaches’ hospitality room available in the garage at the north end of the home stands at 5:00 pm
Entries: Each school will be allowed 2 entries per event and 1 relay team per event. Ben Palmberg will send out an invitation via Athletic.net and all entries are due Tuesday, April 30th, at 10:00 pm.
Events: The order of events is enclosed in the packet. The Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put and Discus will be 3 attempt semis followed by 3 attempts in finals. Triple Jump will follow Long Jump. Jumpers will have 1 hour to attempt 3 jumps. Weigh-in for Shot Put, and Discus will take place at throws area.
Scoring: Scoring will be 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for all individual events. Scoring will be 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for all relay events.
Awards: The 1st place team will receive a plaque. Athletes and Relays finishing 1st-8th will receive medals.
