Boys @ Lake Zurich

The Boys will compete at the Lake Zurich Bears Invitational on Friday night (21st). Bus will leave directly after school. Our lineup is posted below. Field events begin at 4:45pm and running events start at 5:30pm. Please send any questions or concerns to Coach Ellerman.

Notes:                               

- No admission fee.

- Only rubber soled shoes or shoes with spikes not exceeding ¼ inch length will be permitted. 

- The shot and discus areas are concrete, so rubber soled shoes only may be worn. 

- No tape or scratch marks of any kind will be allowed. 

- Chalk, Bean bags or half tennis balls may be used.

- No one except for officials, coaches, and competitors will be allowed to enter the track area. 

- Camps will be permitted on the NE side of the stadium, in the visitor bleachers or near the discus. Team camps can be set up in either bleachers or tents can be put up outside the stadium. (the easiest area is along the west side)  

- We will have FAT Timing this year, please stay away from the finish line during the entire meet unless you are competing on the track.

- Scoring will be 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for all individual events.  Scoring will be 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for all relay events.

- The 1^st – 3^rd place teams will receive a plaque. 

- Varsity athletes finishing 1^st-8^th will receive medals. 

- Frosh/Soph 1^st-8^th will receive medals

 Participating Teams for April 21, 2017: Barrington, Elk Grove, Fremd, Glenbrook North, Grant, Wheeling, Lake Zurich, Waukegan, Carmel, Hoffman Estates, Lakes Community, Mundelein, and Vernon Hills.

* The Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put and Discus will be 4 final Jumps/ Throws only. 

Long Jump – 3 Attempts.  Top 9 to finals immediately after prelims.

High Jump – Varsity, followed by Frosh/Soph.

Triple Jump – 3 jumps.  Top 9 to finals and it follows the Long Jump.

Shot Put – 3 Attempts.  Top 9 to finals.  Varsity followed by Frosh/Soph.

Discus – 3 Attempts.  Top 9 to finals. Frosh/Soph followed by Varsity.

Pole Vault –Pole Vault Varsity first. We will try to start Varsity at 4:45. The runway will be open for warm-ups 20 minutes prior to the start of each level. (Varsity and Frosh-Soph start may be switched based on weather.) Starting heights TBD on site.
